It's not uncommon for a lot of users to use weak passwords because they're easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plugins that are not updated for a long period of time. In either of these instances, it won't be hard for a hacker to take control of the website and immediately after that to take control of other websites that may be hosted within the same account. To avoid such a scenario, we have added an advanced security option named JailHost. It limits the access which a script has exclusively to its own folder, so if one of your sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to see any other content inside your account, so the damage will be minimal. Of course, employing JailHost does not replace the safety measures you must always take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, yet it'll help you to restrict the damage to one site only.
JailHost in Shared Website Hosting
In case you host your websites inside a shared website hosting account from our firm, you will be able to protect them by using the JailHost feature with just a few mouse clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. This feature is provided with all plans and can be activated for every folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have different folders, so files for many different sites don't get mixed up as it frequently happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default because you might use scripts which need access to folders outside the main website folder and this option could interfere with their correct operation, but securing all of the other folders is really easy. In case a protected site gets hacked for whatever reason, we will be able to recover it in a short time because we will have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to view the available backups using Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you have a semi-dedicated hosting account, you will be able to activate JailHost with a few clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel as we have included this option in all of our semi-dedicated plans. It isn't activated by default for the reason that you might use an app which requires access to other folders within the account and JailHost might cause problems, however you'll be able to secure all other Internet sites by isolating them from one another. It is a piece of cake because in Hepsia all domains and subdomains have separate folders. In contrast, many other Control Panels save the content of multiple Internet sites in subfolders under a main domain, so a single hacked website there will mean that all of them will be hacked. With Hepsia, just one site could get damaged and even if this happens, we will quickly bring it back via the multiple daily backups that we will keep, so you can go ahead and update it after that to protect it from potential future attacks.
